  1. So, I have these 2 Alpine SWS-15D2 woofers that I have in a living room in separate 3.0 cu ft boxes (a bit too large) and I'm looking for a better way too power them. Each has a 500W RMS rating and right now I am using a 1000W computer power supply unit connected to an Audiobahn AMA24002 (600W RMS x 2 channels). Are there any receivers out there that can provide the wattage necessary to power the speakers without having to wire together a bunch of components in a tacky, ghetto fashion? Thanks
  2. I am taking my spare bedroom and turning it into a car audio show room/listening/test bench/home theater/entertainment room. I am a big fan of Sundown audio/RF/D'amore engineering and my room will reflect that. I will be starting with the control center of the operation, it will consist of the following (please feel free to comment/suggest other equipment I may need: Pioneer DEX-P99RS XS Power 1005 12/16v charger (possibly two) XS Power XP 3000 x 2 Possibly some 16v batteries for test bench applications Four D'amore engineering output meters (OM-1) Four D'amore engineering temperature meter (TM-1F) D'amore engineering voltage meter D'amore engineering high voltage meter I will be running a four-way system: bass, low, mid, and high. One output meter and temperature meter will monitor each amplifier for clipping and temperature. An array of fans will be set up to cool each amplifier at the desired temperature. Each amp will be tuned with the DD-1, CC-1, and IM-SG1 that I already own. I will most likely be running two RF 1500 BDCP's for the substage, possibly an T1000.4AD for the low stage, and two T600-4's for the mids and highs. I will also have the 10,12, and 15" drivers of the Sundown SA and D'amore engineering AF line on display. Still have a lot of planning/buying to do but will from now on make this thread my dump site for the pictures/info of the equipment and set up.
  3. Hello guys, I'm wanting to start some kind of 2.1 home audio build. Nothing 7.1 ultra high tech. Just want some good ass mids and highs and a decent sub that does lows. Now I'm wondering, what kind of sub would be nice? I was thinking 250 watts to 500 watts of RMS should be enough to do well right? Anyways, that brings me to the next question. Are there any affordable mono's to power a suggested woofer? Anf what mids and highs would be nice, would I need a calculated enclosure for mids and highs? I'm new to home audio, would love some help. Thanks!
  4. Bought our house at the beginning of August of '17, immediately had ADT install a security system on the windows and doors. Earlier, sometime after the wife went to work (my time is 8 hours ahead of her), she received an email alert telling her our alarm was triggered. She went and checked it out, said nothing seemed out of place or damaged, but the alarm was triggered for our big bay window in the front room. It's kind of scary to think someone may have attempted to break in to our home. I know my pup Blitz definitely is NOT a guard dog, unless you're allergic to playtime and dog tongue. After some worry and thinking, I've decided it's a good idea to add some cameras for visual monitoring to a few points around the outside, and maybe some inside one day, that way if anything happens in or around the house, maybe we'll see some face(s) on camera and be able to use it to identify the culprit. I told her to ask ADT what they offer, but I also did a little searching on their camera systems and was not really content with what I found. Lack of local storage, 30 second segments only, and of course an increase in our payment. So I started digging into what all I would need for a DIY networked system with remote viewing capability, and I find myself much more inclined to do it myself and pay for it all at once and install it and not have to worry about an additional contract and monthly payment and everything else that would be required with ADT. 4-8 channel Network Video Recorder, HDD, UPS, a couple cameras, some cat5e, and should be good to go. The NVR and cameras that I found to be of good price point and quality, recommended for the DIYer, are Hikvision brand. So I figured I'd come here, see what kind of recommendations some of you guys may have, cause there's bound to be a few people with home security systems for monitoring while you're at work, vacation, etc.... Any good or bad reviews with Hikvision equipment? Other equipment recommendations, etc? I've still got a little time left on this deployment, so it'll give me plenty of time to figure out exactly what I want to go with before I get home and pull the trigger. Once I am 100% set on the equipment, home safe and sound, and am able to begin installing the equipment, i'll gladly turn this into a build log for any who care. Let me know what you think and what recommendations you guys have. Thanks.
  5. Looking to build an enclosure with a 21 inch subwoofer for my room. Already have the Polk Audio Psw10 10 inch woofer for strong punchy bass but, I want a extremely low end punch which sadly, the 10 inch driver will not provide. Probably going to build a 14 foot or so cubic feet enclosure for a 21 inch subwoofer. Then probably buy a lanzar 2000 watt amp or something to power it. Any suggestions on if I should even spend the $155 for the project or should I just ditch the idea. The item number is PYLE-PRO PDW21250 (Pic of the sub below)
  6. Alright, i am sure you guys have heard this many times before. I have 4 18" FI BTL N2 subwoofers (V1) and I want to install them in my living room. Being dual 2 subs... I could wire one to one amp at 4ohm in series. So, guess ill need 4 amps. Any suggestions? i have been looking and found a few dayton audio amps.. I havent found anything that does around 1500 watts rms at 4 ohm. I am assuming this isnt common in home audio? Or will i need to hook up my welder to my 750.1? Lol.
  7. Hey guys, long time no see....or talk. Anyway I had a friend that was throwing away some surround sound speakers and I salvaged all of the components before he threw them out. Right now I have a Samsung 2.1 soundbar that I bought a year or so ago and its great.....but now that I have these speakers I have been thinking about building my own soundbar. My question is are there any receivers out there they you would recommend to run all (5) of the speakers?
