lol @ thinking "competition" subs can take more than rated. it has nothing to do with that, a lot of it will depend on parts used, coils, thermal capabilities, and the enclosure. stick a 10" sub into a 8cu ft box and throwing even its RMS may prove disasterous. you might want to learn how subs work. and why the need to know how much it can handle?

OP, if you have to ask you probably dont have the experience or knowledge needed to realize when a driver is being pushed past its mechanical abilities anyways, in which case staying with the RMS is what you need to do. i dont care to check with the RMS is...but i believe they have 3" aluminum coils and say the driver will take anywhere from 1200-1500 daily with no issues. but i believe the type x is only available in D4 so you will want something putting out 1500RMS at 2 ohm
