SPLadd1ct Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hello, I am doing a 5000 watts rms build in my Hyundai Tiburon. Check out this link for what I am all using. I am just getting started with the build and am going to start with the big 3. I am familiar with what I must do to perform this. Now would it be a good idea to do 2-3 runs from the alternator + to the battery + for less resistance? And may I also do multiple runs with the grounds? Or isn't it necessary? I ordered 100' of Stinger HPM 1/0 power wire off of darvex and should have plenty to go around my vehicle. I am already going to do 3 runs from my front battery to my back battery and then 2 runs from the 3rd battery to the amplifier. 2011 Ford Ranger Sport 4.0 v6 2 sundown audio prototype nsv4 15s crossfire 4k wired to 0.4 ohm 15 banks of maxwell 3.0 caps @ 18v triple alts (x2 us alt 250's, x1 singer 320) 153 at 23hz

It wouldnt hurt anything thats for sure but i you ever go bigger to you already have it.. Im running around the same wattage too but i have 2 for positive and two for negative back to the front. For example the battery (negative) to ground and also the engine block to ground. Would this prove to be any benefit? Yeah definitely will prevent huge voltage drops with you running 5000 watts. Let me tell you how i did mine since are setups are similar. I have two dc 3.5ks and i have a 270xp dc alt and i only have 1 run of knukonceptz kollassis flekz because its rated for over 300 amps. If you had a 350 amp alternator i would run two 0 gauge wires to the battery but one should be fine with anything less with the right wire of course. Then i have 4 runs of 0 gauge from the front battery back to my battery bank in the trunk( 2 pos and 2 neg). I also run two engine grounds from the block, one to the battery and on to the frame for shits n giggles. It never hurts to have an extra ground or two, electricity takes the path with the least resistance anyways. Oh and to run the wires, you just run from the pos and negative from your front battery to the back positive amd negative of your back battery.
