  1. E-series arn't suited for 4th orders? obviously whoever says that has no CLUE what they are talking about... #1: The t/s parameters say otherwise #2: I have heard several set ups in person using them in a 4th, and they sound awesome.
  2. This site is called Steve Meade Designs? Shit I thought it meant suck my dick....jk On the other hand purple syrup and his little northstar butt buddies are straight up bitches and plain old ignorant... Please tell me why the hell you would listen to this dude for advice on car audio? Just look at him!! I am glad this idiot got banned, don't need any of this bs on here. Ungrateful bitch. Dude is a chronic bull shitter as well. Anyways looking good Steve, can't wait til it starts taking shape a little bit (: Fuck the haters dude they are just jealous.
  3. Easy peasy bro, I test mine all the time with different subs. To test the tuning (sealed resonance) of the sealed section, just take off your front baffle (if removable like mine is) so that there is no loading whatsoever on the subs forward wave. Your highest impedance will be your sealed resonance. To find the tuning of the port just find the lowest impedance between the two peaks in impedance; same exact concept as finding your tuning in a standard ported enclosure.
  4. I don't quite understand how to do that either legych. I own the same device and the way I connect mine to the amp is through the head unit. I just use a 3.5 mm RCA cable and a double RCA to single RCA cable and tap right into your head units auxillary port. I'd be curious to know the answer to your question also
  5. all of the tracks below 0db shouldn't clip unless your music does :X
  6. just measured my sa-15 from my personal collection. i used a tape measure to obtain center to center of the surrounds diameter of the cone area. i got 12 & 13/16" which equivocates to 12.8125". so pi ((12.8125/2)^2) = 128.93 square inches the standard units they use for sd is square centimeters i believe. there are 6.4516 square centimeters in a square inch so ((128.93)x(6.4516)) = 831.8 square centimeters. hope this helped bud
  7. Gotta be kidding me....look closer dude.....if you notice, the wood only looks like 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and theres no way that baffle would be alive if it were only 1/2 inch thickSo you admit you don't see the aeroport...besides his enclosure is made of cheap wood... cheap wood doesn't mean nothing if u have enough bracing and double baffle the front.. plus im glad i use cheap wood.. i would hate to keep putting money into make a box.. these are test designs.. when i find the one i like i will use mdf..Yeah you are right, its okay to use plywood (not birch) and particle board and brace with more cheap wood!

  9. Id bet money youll be happy with them in that box And please post pics of design/build pics so we can see the enclosure.
  10. He legitly put a hole in the box as an 8" "aero port"....I doubt his box designing skills... No offense dude but I really wanna see you get good results with your x's...
  11. Has nothing to do with it.....you have 15s, not 12s....and the big difference is that my enclosure was built properly....listen to Dylan....build another box 7-8 cubes tuned to 30hz (slot port) with a bunch of port area and power them properly....please have someone build you a box deign for them too.
  12. Sundown actually posted my build log from here on their Facebook....I had two sundown x 12s on two Rockford fosgate 1500 bdcp's and it raped everything I ever had in my car before by far.
  13. Maybe its your aero ports? How much port area do you have and what did you use to design them? The reason he isn't getting the results he wants is because you arnt the dr. Subwoofer you think you are...not trying to be rude man but I can't take how you keep saying everywhere you go that your fi 18 was louder than these two x 15s....it is your user "error" that's causing them to not be as loud as you want...Here is an example of his c pillar "wall". "http://youtu.be/thz-i4Gms-Y" ^^ sorry for the embed fail Look i had my fi q 18 in many boxes before i came up with the one i liked and they all sounded good.. I can bet u NEVER heard an Fi q before because if you have you would know just how loud and good they sound.. people don't talk about Fi for Nothing.. I give my brother my Fi and he built a small box with the same old amp i use and i can hear him two blocks coming. We throw it into my SUV and It bangs harder than the Xs. we been do car audio for years and if i know what Im doing.. and for the c pillar i just wanted to try something different.. and yes i have try these Xs in a regular street-box design.. 2 of them and they were just ok.. but im thur with u.. I have heard plenty of fi q 18 set ups actually and wasn't impressed whatsoever....dude...your aero port is a hole....and your c pillar wall is not a wall......Please sell your x 15s to someone who actually knows how to use them and quit bashing sundown....go home kid you're drunk
  14. Look back at the video I posted and take a real close look at the hole...erm..I mean aeroport lmfao

  16. Unfortunately storms in our area kept me away from doing some vids today.....will be doing shirt trick, flex, air movement, and hair trick vids when it gets nicer out and I can get my hands on a camera person...
  17. Even with the DAD BD 12s which had an fs of 28hz still sounded mechanical at 21hz, specifically with the song I Cook ( Mega Screwed by Big Pimpin )...These subs do not produce that same sound on the same song... Like I stated above - I just can't get over that I am now able to play this low...previously bottoming out was something you needed to be careful of when playing the low stuff (below 25hz)....not anymore, these subs have more than enough throw to get the job done! I can't imagine what builds are gonna be like in the future with these things....especially with the 15's and 18's I see what you mean but I don't see how even with the BD's being tuned to 26hz and you can't play 25hz without bottoming out, you should be able to play into the high teens maybe lower before risking damage, you positive that box is tuned so low? by the looks of it the port seems kinda big for the tuning unless there's a bunch of L's inside the box to keep the length going, regardless I wanna see more vids of this thing! you think you could put some more power to them with ease? Let me re-clarify a bit.... The DAD BD series only have two spiders and they are spaced apart also...didn't take much power to get them moving pretty well....even with the enclosure being tuned at 26hz (yes it is tuned that low - I checked it with my SMD IM-SG1) you still had to be careful on anything below 25hz and they were prob seeing 1kish each with the skars...... the port is only L'd once....but if I recall it is close to 40" long haha.... In this size enclosure I would probably feel safe running 1,750-2k to them (2.5 cubes per sub) If you plan on running rated power though I wouldn't be afraid to throw them in 3.0-3.25 cubes per sub maybe even 3.5 cubes.. I REALLY can't wait to see some enclosure designs people make for these things (: To conclude: On my way home from work today while playing my system: This set up now feels VERY comparable with the two DAD BD 12s on the 6k at o.5 (god rest their souls lol)...which is very impressive (:
  18. Song was BME click - Lil' Jon (Big pimpin version) & Throw it up (slowed down 35%).... These subs absolutely murder any frequency...even sound pretty darn good on the higher stuff...I am still a little gun shy on the low low stuff (below 20hz stuff) but I have no reason to be, the subs handle it like a champ...I am just used to typical subs not made for the low end (: Will make some vids today!! On a side note we actually broke part of the port inside the enclosure from the all thread (these subs are very destructive so brace accordingly), my poor hatch is begging for mercy...might be time to wall this thing... (; Sounds like they are doing what they are designed for in your setup -- glad to hear it ! Thats a great score as well. Thanks Jacob! I got to hear derek's "Green Monster" with the 8 zv4 15's in the C-Pillar 4th order....all I can say is you really designed a winner here, it was the main attraction at slamology.... These may not be a burp/spl type sub, but let me tell you...anyone who says "I don't want to run the Sundown X or Zv4 because I want highs too, not just lows", they are down right wrong...These subs have no problem playing higher frequency stuff too...
