OrionStang Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 My wifes pc monitor took a shit, so she wants to attach the monitor cord from the pc tower to her laptop. How do we go about doing this? When she plugs the tower to the laptop, it just changes the screen resolution, but we can't find where to view the monitor input. Help! zayres29 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 dont plug it to the tower plug it to the screen you could eff something up plugging it to the tower if the "ins" and "outs" arent right Quote Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged

All my desktop icons got rearranged and moved around. I think i'll just wait until tomorrow to get a new monitor. What would cause the monitor to say 'no input detected' when its connected, and 'check connection' when its not. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
zayres29 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 maybe cause the tower and laptop are trying to send 2 different signals at the same time im not quite sure how you have it hooked up but if you unhook the tower and only have the laptop hooked up it should work fine i ran my 24" lcd off my laptop for a couple weeks before i had my tower build and it worked fine you just cant have more than one input at once because computer monitors dont have a input selector Quote Btw that was the first person.
