Boon Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Holy crap, I can't believe it smoked a track that big. Did it have the correct fuses in it? Normally there's about 1000 things that would burn before that would. Easy fix as long as that's all that's wrong with it. Replace all 6? Power supply MOSFETs Check the resistance on all the RxxP resistors (in that pic they're R21P, R23P, R63P) are what they're supposed to be Follow the traces from those resistors, you'll find a little clump of transistors, probably marked A1023 and C1027, maybe A3128 or something like that. Check them with the diode test on your DMM. If all of those check out, give the output transistors a quick check with the diode check too. Take 0.5" of 8 ga and strip it, pull out a bunch of strands and lay them across that gap in the track then solder it all up. Try to keep it flat so it won't short on the heatsink. Then give it a whirl. Either it'll smoke up in your face or work fine. A scope would be nice so you can check the drive signal but on an amp this small, meh, give it a go. 10.x volts fo' life!

Yes the correct fuses were in it and I believe if I remember right they were both blown. Rest In Peace mother. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
