Wiring 3 Speakers

Recommended Posts

I am trying to come up with some ideas for a center channel speaker for my home theatre setup, which I would prefer to have set up with a tweeter and 2 mid bass drivers (either 5.25" or 6.5"). The only problem I am having with this is figuring out how to wire it in order to have a final impedance of 4 ohms. I realize I am oversimplifying this quite a bit but my main question is this: if I were to wire 2 4 ohm speakers together in series for an 8 ohm load and then wire those two in parallel with another 8 ohm speaker, would the 8 ohm speaker get half the output while the other 2 4 ohm speakers got a quarter of the power each, or would the power be evenly split between all of the speakers?
