jrot Posted July 31, 2011 Author Report Posted July 31, 2011 alrighty well i think I've decided to up my game some, i like my system now but i think i would like the same sound but louder so this is what I'm thinking it will be in the end, though i will not be paying these prices of course. kenwood kdc-x995 not 100% sold on this deck but i need one thats iPhone4 capable, would like to have 4 rca outs too and maybe even a dead head, who knows, but for now i like this one. 4x polk mm651 2x jl 6w3v3 ill probably get the 4ohm version of these 2x sundown sa8 again these ill get in the 4ohm version 1x polk pa1200.1 1x polk 1100.5 so i think thats gonna be my final on this build(yeah right)....any thoughts? advice? opinions? good or bad info is always good.
bobobass Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Sounds like an awesome upgrade! 2000 Subaru outback 2.5l Head Unit: Pioneer deh 4300ub front stage: tbd subwoofer: Stock Fi Q 18" amp: Audio que 1200d
jrot Posted July 31, 2011 Author Report Posted July 31, 2011 i hope so, should be pretty loud, and clean i hope. not sure if ill use the jl's and the second mono, just because when i get better fronts and then do some sealing here and there and up the watts by nearly double i may not need the jl's and the second amp but i won't know till they go in.
jrot Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 im lost. i wanna fix my doors and have no clue what to do. the placement of the fronts in unacceptable but i have no idea how to fox it without making the door panel awkward, hmmm.....also trying to figure out what do do about my alt if anything. geez, that is all.
jrot Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 ok well a quick project to get me motivated, i have to figure out where to mount my iphone since it wont go where the old ipod did, should be easy. also wondering if i should try putting my 4" speakers back up front just to see how they sound vs. my barely there 6.5s. maybe in the mix of things they would sound better. who knows.
BJD3 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 (To your previous two posts) Can I have more detail? Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. jrot Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 look at posts 15 and 16 to see where things are mounted now and what i mean about how the 6.5s sit tucked in the door vs the 5/4"
jrot Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 ok 89 supra currently has kenwood kdc-x994 4x 6.5" polk db651 to open air(doors) two boxed in pods(rears) also have a soundstream reference 405s five channel. well it seems my amp is dying and i was looking for new stuff anyway but the time is much more near than expected. what i wanted to do ultimately was get the 4x polk mm651 about $100 a set 1 or 2 sundown sa8s these will be powered by polk audio pa1100.5 around $375 ish also want to put in 2x jl audio 6w3v3 d4ohm around $100 ish each powered by a polk pa400.1 around 150/170 ish but upon thinking about that ill end up doing a near complete rebuild i started to wonder what else was out there for the same cost. any thoughts would be great, idle love to get the best i can for the price... now what im after is a good daily driven car that leans more towards SQ but not really, but deffinatly not a SPL but i do like to pound on occasion, i really want to have a great sounding stereo for any music imaginable without tweeking setting every time i change genre. i listen to lots of rock and lots and lots of talk radio but a bit of rap and little country. i just want it to be good all the time if i can. thoughts? ideas? ridicule? thanks in advance.
