Jesus christ...what kind of wattage is that battery capable of sustaining? I think I could run my house off that for a week. I think I love it. As for the doors, im suprised the hinges seriously havent just given out and snapped how violent this thing is. Maybe you should just weld the doors shut and climb through the windows. :drink40:

haha i believe it's rated at 150ah and 1600cca, this one was originally used in an elevator, as a backup supply, they need to have enough juice to clamp the brakes in case of an emergency, as well as power the elevator until whatever situation is over... but considering this isn't exactly common happenings, they basically sit on a cycle charge for 2 years until they're replaced... which is when i bought this one, a mate and i bought a few of them a while ago, fantastic battery, and very cheap too...

i've also seen them used in banks for medical supplies out here... as well as off grid solar powered housing...

got SOME updates... nothing great as i spent most of the day working on fiddly stuff, running cables etc, BUT...

found out the issue behind my loose door... lol the bolts had all but fallen out... so the door was basically just hanging there, lol explains alot really... but it should be noted that i only started having door issues after this last event, so all the videos posted have been with a nice tight door...

so... guard off!!

and my precision door panel alignment tool...

15092011126.jpg

all 4 bolts had less than half their thread holding them in...

15092011127.jpg

also got a grommet on the charge line

15092011128.jpg

and cleaned off the headlights as best i could...

15092011130.jpg

AAAAAND, i got my essques back!!

15092011132.jpg

i decided it really was necessary to get the Audiocontrol EQL backinto the car to dial out some of the "harshness" from the new front stage, not that it's overly harsh or "bad" sounding, not at all, there's just ALOT of top end to be had from 8x 6x9"s all on axis within a meter of your head... as well as having the input/output gain controls, it's helped drop some of the hiss from the system, not alot of it, but some... lol

i'm pretty happy with my progress so far, i've also fixes a few issues with the setup that had come from simply rushing things to get it to shows etc...

the headunit was getting all it's power from the accessories, no constant... this has now been rectified

all lighting/neons were run off the remote line from the deck, again, it's now been put thru switching etc

all under dash wiring has been neatened, which was MUCH needed....

2morro i'm not sure what i'll get stuck into, but might start running some more lighting, neatening up some more things...

well i'm HOPING to get to summernats... but no guarantees... i'm also supposed to take it over to aelaide at some point, but i'm having a few issues with my daily/tow car running hot while towing, under normal situations it's fine, temp doesn't move from the moment the thermostat opens, but when towing, especially with any kind of hills it just cooks, so i'm hoping to get a nice big radiator in there before i take it interstate, hopefully that'll happen soon!!

updates?

youtube is being a jerk, and not letting me upload any vids... but this is an issue i know a few youtubers are having, so hopefully it's sorted soon... but i have an AWESOME vid to throw up...

BUT in the mean time...

whats this...?

19092011195.jpg

19092011194.jpg

all subs have been pulled out in preparation for some work... after having a closer look at everything last week i decided there's ALOT that could be improved upon on my behalf, alot of smoothing and sealing thats needs doing, as well as some repairs inside the box....

stuff like this up the back of the box, the floors completely uneven and actually looks quite messy... i really should have been a bit neater lol

19092011198.jpg

and this, not only is the floor it'sself rather average (mdf split while removing a layer of 18mm in extending the box) but the floor also some 36mm shorter than the rest of the box, not to mention the front of the box is some 18mm short than it's supposed to be, so all up 52mm short... and remember this all dictates the tuning of the front chamber... so there's issues...

19092011199.jpg

this has to be THE greatest tool i have ever bought...

19092011196.jpg

made my life puling these subs out SO much easier!! previously i was a case of using a stubby screwdriver by hand to get them out due to this lack of space!

19092011193.jpg

AND while pulling the woofers out i noticed that we have a casualty...

19092011191.jpg

i need to put them all on a multimeter to double check they're still all reading fine, but i DO have some replacements ready to slot in....

i'm also looking at getting some nice big dustcaps ordered in and fitted up for some slightly more custom look, as well as to put an end to the constant questions as to why i'm running 2 different types of woofers (only the dustcaps are different, everything else is the same)

aaaaand...

19092011197.jpg

but all in all it's looking fairly sad atm, hopefully that will change soon as i sort out installing some new AWEZOMES....
