I got an iPhone clone a couple years ago and it was total crap, I hear they are getting better but it could be a waste of money like mine was. bre2ts Posted March 8, 2011 Report Share Posted March 8, 2011 Ok this is how kit works if the phone is unlocked and gsm you can use any provider that uses a sim card tmobile, AT&T are just some examples. There are some settings you will need to reset or set for this phone to work fully on your net work carrier. Some of those settings include, wireless Internet(not wifi), picture messaging, and other multimedia messaging. These are all things you need to consider when buying a phone from outside your provider. That being said I wouldn't expect this phone to be the best one but the question will it work in NY is yes if you have a gsm network.
