So with all of these deadener companies out now, is there an objective way to test which product is the best or the most cost effective. Too many brands have people that swear by them and denounce all others and I am wanting a way to conclusively decide with numbers and facts who really is the best.

only way you could do that is get a test sample of each and use it on the same part of the same car putting it on then removing it for each type

I'm not saying for SPL competitions. I am looking to see what has better dampening qualities.

The best one is the one you can get on sale for the best price and the easiest on the pocket. Start there or if you got the money to blow, like dude said before, buy some of every brand and do a in depth review of each one. Me personally think 90 percent of them are almost identicle plus or minus a clouple mils

A butyl based adhesive deadner is the way to go, best thing u can do is go to the different websites read reviews from people, there will be some good and some bad im sure, but everyone is going to swear by a different product. The best thing i can tell you is go with something that fits ur budget. I myself have Second Skin, but theres a new product i would try if i needed some and thats audio technix it looks like its the same thing just a bit thicker. Right now they are having a pretty good sale on it so i suggest looking at it. Theres also Fatmat and Dynamat(overpriced). I would never go with Peel n Seal thats just me, some people will say its cost effective and works but thats there opinion and i cant judge them for that, i do know alot of people dont think its a good idea to use and i personaly wouldnt use it either.
