Miggz96
Hey guys When it comes to batt's, i tend to be a bit of a I'll be runnin around 3600 watts RMS. I don't want to much overkill because it will be going at the back of my car and i don't want it to F up the handling to much. Help me please Quote If I'm goin to hell, I'm going in a HOLDEN!!! TeamHT
How does a battery ruin the handling? What electrical upgrades if any? What vehicle? This is really going to depend on the person as I personally like incredible overkill. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? Miggz96
The weight will be way out of the wheel base and make it back end heavy. Big 3, will be done. This will be my second battery, and not that it would make a difference to because your in Alaska, but it will be going in a 96 vs commodore. 3.8 liter v6 manual, rwd. Very tail happy. TeamHT
You're talking about 30-40lbs 83 max, weight distribution won't affect the handling to a noticeable amount. And Alaska isn't the only US state that doesn't have the Holden Commodore...no state in the US has one, lol. But we do have the pontiac gto, the American version of your Commodore. I believe the 3.6 with a 6 speed manual was either the 2004 VZ or the 2006 VE...you're talking like 250horses max at the crank, which can easily be countered with upgrades to the suspension and tires. But being overseas is going to affect you much more with brands and models that are available as well as price and shipping when applicable. I honestly do not believe the stock alts, even with two batteries will be able to play true 3600 watts for extended periods without voltage drop. What amplifier? I do not know what batteries are available down under but maybe upgrading to primary and adding two in the back to keep you above 14. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? TeamHT
And the purpose of knowing the vehicle and year has to do with what parts are stock, such as alternator. And year, well...a car 20 years old may have a hard time keeping the stock alt alive under the pull. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? Miggz96
I should of stated that i'm going to get a new much more powerful mechman alt. But i have to give , you actually know something about aussie cars(by the way the gto is actually a monaro but good guess). I didn't mean to be so direct at saying Alaska, just trying to make the point. It is actually the older Buick motor in mine, so more like 200hp max but its more the torque side of things. But that's not quite what i meant. I plan on dropping it about an inch or so with stiffer springs, the do the adjustable pan hard bar and control arms and so forth but that will be later on. SO, what would you recommend Mr HT, I should of also stated that it was going to be a xs power, man I'm today. Edited March 19, 2011 by Miggz96 Quote If I'm goin to hell, I'm going in a HOLDEN!!! Nathan @ XSpower
For daily use the D3400, D2400, D6500, D2700, or D3100 would work. Depends on the weight you want and the budget you have.
