Tek Posted March 20, 2011 Report Share Posted March 20, 2011 Not to sure if this is in the right section, move if necessary. My girlfriend has a 2003 Ford Taurus with about 70,000 miles. A few months after she bought it, her engine blew. Now, she seems to be having a bit of a transmission issue. Whenever she is stopped at a red light or stop sign (or any stop for that matter) and goes to accelerate after, her car gently accelerates than shifts VERY roughly/abruptly and takes off. If they change it and find metal shavings in the fluid you know you have a more serious problem. Sounds like some of the clutch plates could be going bad.
