allblackdub Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Alright so I've had a few good systems in the past but now I'm interested in competing. I bought 2 a2300hct amps and 2 aw1505q subs. I have an 01 jetta and I'm just wondering about amp wire.. I'm gonna use 0/1 awg but I'm not sure about the batteries and and everything... any suggestions about sound deadening, how much wire to run, I heard I should run like 4 strands or power and ground?? Idk.

You would want to do everything to ensure most efficiency and frequency response in your vehicle. Wiring...length I don't know off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to figure it out. The amount of runs though is truly going to depend on your draw. I don't recognize the amps listed and am too lazy to look it up. Go by how much current you'll be pulling. And once you know how much current you can also decide a route for alternator upgrade and batteries. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
allblackdub Posted March 22, 2011 Author Report Posted March 22, 2011 The amps are 2400 watts each but I think they are underrated cause I know a few ppl that have run them in the past in bass race comps and stuff like that and be in the high 155 range with just 1 of these amps and I'm planning on running both of mine so I was thinking of a 300 amp alternater and probably 2-3 kinetic batts? Im still not sure about wiring though.. this is the first system I've run over 2000 watts.
TeamHT Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Is there even a 300+ amp alternator for the jetta? I'm an XS kind of guy, never run kinetik and never will. The power made by the amps can't be judged by decibels. I would just do 2 runs of true 0 gauge power and ground. I honestly am one of the people here with a huge hardon for electrical overkill. I was running three RF T4000s, am RF T800.4 and a RF T400.4 on a triple Mechman 270 alt setup with six XS Power D3100s. I would upgrade the alternator to what can fit, the biggest XS battery that can fit under the hood, and two D3100s in the back. Should allow you plenty of juice with thr ability to wang full tilt for extended periods of time competitively. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
