hi all

my name is robin 19 years old and I live in Netherlands

I now observe a common question but my english is not so good

So post it here on this topic

I had first 2x 12 inch subwoofers in a sealed coffin.

but now want something else 2x 15 inch in a ported box

I have a number of specifications of the woofer at least the liter

75 liters per woofer so totally 150/155

hand, the manufacturer per woofer this> suggestion Bass Reflex Cabinet, 75 Litre / 1 Reflexrohr / port

Ø 10 cm, Length / legth 25 c

and I think they want that I make a round port, but I do not want nice. I want square or rectangular port

but my question is how big should the square or rectangle.

I have the wood already cut to length but not cut the holes for the woofer and port.

22mm MDF material

Here an over view of the box for the woofers are top of the box

but do not know how to place the gate.

the gate sits here in the upper side

of can i make te gate in the front of the coffin

I hope you can help me, because it wants to do well at a time, hence my question on this forum (come via youtube)

(my english may be a bit confusing)

Gr, robin / vannos

Let's see if I can't help you try and explain what you want better.

What subwoofers are you going with?

What are the dimensions you want to stay within? (Hight x Length x Width)

We will start with that.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

Just to make it a little easier for others to understand.

Box Dimensions: (Hight 13.4" x Length 33.9" x Width 35.4")

I going to say you want it for daily so, tuned to low/mid 30s... so 34 hertz or so?

Do you know the name/brand of the subs?

Ok from what i understand, according to the company (Their site) they want a box 2.65 cubic feet per woofer (5.30 total) with recommended port of 4" wide by 10" long which would give you a tuning of 22.22 hertz.

After messing with the box calculator I came up with (using the recommended size box the company states of 5.30 cubic inches) 6" high x 6" wide x 10" long which gives you a tuning of 35 hertz.

2x15.jpg

Using the dimensions you gave me. The box would be 7.17 Cubic feet (203 litters).

I would use a port 7" High x 7" wide x 10" long (17.8 cm x 17.8 cm x 25.4 cm). This would give you a port area of 6.83 square inches per cubic foot.

2x15-1.jpg

Another option would be to make a port 9" x 9" x 20" (22.9 cm x 22.9 cm x 50.8 cm) which would give you a port area of 12.8 square inches per cubic foot.

I hope I wasn't to confusing, if you need more help just ask.

I know there are members on here that are better at this them me but, this is what I have cam up with. I any one else can add on or confirm this to be correct would be great.

From what I've read on the forums, people have said to usually go with the bigger port. So, I'm going to say the second option of 9" x 9" x 20" (22.9 cm x 22.9 cm x 50.8 cm).

Good luck! :drinks:
