TeamHT Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 It's like saying...man...my subs RMS at 2000 watts but I give them more than double that daily...that must mean all 2000rms subs can handle that. Some ratings are understated but others...not so much. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
bignickk Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 a good system starts at the source, so get a good HU first would be my suggestion. then depending if you want more bass or mids/highs i would go with a 4 channel first or a nice secondary batt. but in order it should be HU then batt for your electrical then 4 channel.once you wire the subs to 1 ohm you will get a lot more bass out of them subs Quote 2000 tahoe orion hcca 15.4 kicker zx2500 2 JL 300/4s infinity and kicker mids/highs KHC1400 in back, stock upfront dont ask about my HU clarion EQ kicker/fosgate rcas
skittlesRgood Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 I have installed the R1652s before...the guy used an RF T400.4 and popped the speakers after a day. They really did not like that much power. And they just distorted after he installed it. There are going to be comps that are going to be way underrated...if these are true SQ guys, I'm sure theyre not using $60 components. of course, like i said it doesnt apply here at all and i totally agree with you. i was just passing that info to you in case it might help you on your own car. and obviously if my friend clips at ALL they will pop like a fuse lol. fijisac916 Posted March 25, 2011 Author Report Posted March 25, 2011 i would like to thank everyone for their input, its has really opened my eye's and now i feel like i need to start from square one again =) I'll keep you guys updated Quote
TeamHT Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 Don't look at it like that. If you look at it like that you'll get burned out rather quickly. Look at it like this, the install may start at square 1 again, but you will not. As long as you keep learning, no matter how many times to rebuild, you'll just that even farther in knowledge and experience. If I had a nickel for every time I rebuilt...I'd have enough to play a game of pacman. LOL. But when youre first starting out expect to rebuild and learn a couple things. You can only get experience by doing. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Maxim Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 Damn. You guys can be so helpful when you're not being dicks. Bring a tear to my eye! Gotta agree with everyone in here. Headunit first. That Sony's only got 2 volt preamps. Get a nice Alpine with 4+ volt outputs and you'll notice a clean increase in sound. Quote wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt
