ISO Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Plain and simple they are BEAST and if you feel competent in your skills you can very easily remove the protection circuit to make them run at one ohm. They are very stable after being modded and my last test showed 1856 watts with a 1.33 nominal load. A friend of the forum modded my first one a few years ago and I blew it up a couple of months ago (it was 100% my fault because I was installing it hot) and I modded my second one. I love mine and will only be upgrading so I have up to date products. Effecientcy is pretty close to what the new amps are. The only catch to these older BD amps is that it seams you must have the Punch bass knob to get them to really perform and unless you have a RFC-3215 bass coupler you will have to use 2 bass knobs but I have 2 new in the box so if you need one get $90 and its yours. (or a 360.2) According to Ebay they are still holding a resell value of $300 to $350 and it has been this way for 5 years or so. Straight up bad ass amps that are still respected to this day. Yes its a damn good trade even if you were trading them just to resell to get a little more money towards 2 new T1500CP amps. I have been finding the new amps for around $550 new on the net. Don't stress because RF is still selling a replacement bass knob on their site. LOL yes both the BD1000 and the BD1500 left me feeling like I got screwed but when I got my bass knobs both amps blew me the fuck away.
