bre2ts
This website does a good job explaining of the AC system in your car works http://www.familycar.com/ac1.htm it could also be as simple as a rerigerent leak. What make and model is the car? Quote Feedback 1 | Feedback 2 you win some, you lose some

Swaggasaur
The compresser is under the hood i see now, i thought that was the A/C clutch, guess its the same thing. but when the A/C did work the thing on the front spun when the A/C was on. it no longer spins, could it be something electrical or do i have to replace that? bre2ts
It could be a few things a from a bad bearing, pulley or belt to having to replace the whole compressor. On a different note if it is just a simple as replacing the pulley or something and it still doesn't work it could be a refridgerant leak and since it's an older car before te new EPA laws were set I am going to assume it's r-12 and that it hasn't been upgraded to r-134a and the problem with that is that you have to be EPA certified to purchase r-12 so you wouldn't be able to fix it your self Quote Feedback 1 | Feedback 2 you win some, you lose some
