For instance my sax-1200d has 3 of those tiny 40 amp fuses in it already. If i put an anl fuse between the battery and the amp, its like extra protection right? If so does that mean i should use a 90 amp fuse, bigger, smaller? For the love of god help me understand. If I'm goin to hell, I'm going in a HOLDEN!!! n8ball2013 Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 this is nto as hard as you are making it to be. the fuse is in the power wire to protect the wire. you should normlaly fuse it to the max rating of the wire. for instance a 1/0 run of OFC over 15 feet is 300 amps. you fuse it witha 300 amp fuse. I dont think fusing with 90 amps is a very good idea when your amp is requiring 120 amps. You Sir are mad Edit:Is it better to use a slightly higher rating like if its 120, use 135 amp fuse instead, or use a lower sized fuze. If I'm goin to hell, I'm going in a HOLDEN!!!
