this a good box?

my friend made up a design for a box for my hcca 15". 18.75H 33W 25D

Port- 16.5H 4.5W 33L

1 extra baffle

Wood - .75

4.49 ft3 after displacement

31.67hz

16.53in2 per ft3 port

Port area - 74.25in2

this sound like a good box? when i put it in torres the box voume seemed a bit big but i guess after port and displacments it droped nicely

4.5 cubic feet sounds a little big for a 15.

4.5 cubic feet sounds a little big for a 15.

lol its smaller then my current box but the hcca is a massive woofer if that makes a diffrence. i would like to drop the tuning a bit but everytime i try shit goes crazy lol

Those HCCA's do like bigger boxes, and they are larger than a normal 15" sub. The have an actual 15" cutout and more sd than a normal 15" sub(IIRC 960cm^2 vs 810cm^2).

Those HCCA's do like bigger boxes, and they are larger than a normal 15" sub. The have an actual 15" cutout and more sd than a normal 15" sub(IIRC 960cm^2 vs 810cm^2).

yea the mounting diamter is 15.7 if i remember right

I think 15.07, but don't quote me on that, I just looked at the manual about a week ago when someone was asking me about them.

The port height would actually be 18.5 because the have to take away .75 from the top and bottom (wood thickness)

witch lowers your tuning to 30.22(you wont notice a diffrence though)

raises your net volume to 5.48 cubic feet

and lowers your port area to 83.25
