RooTxBeeR Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) I am using the box calc off this site, my subs say on the manual that for 1 sub for ported, it needs 1.20 Cu, with a 8.24 in length port with a diameter of 3 in. I want to keep the 1.2 Cu per sub and I have 2, Which I want to make a box, with 2 seperate ported boxes for each sub. I just am having a hard time using this calculator to figure shit out, I need to keep the width of the box at 33 in and need a 35 Hz port. I would prefer a non circle port, but when I take diameter off the calc and use width height instead it doesn't work. Help would be greatly appreciated. Edit:My main questions on this are these. Box dimensions: Height is the height, width is width, so Depth is the "Length" in the L x W x H = Cu? Port Dimensions: Width and Length are the W x L in the port, and height is how deep it is? This box design I came on with this if I think the calc is what I think everything means, is good, 2.4 Cu 35Hz, everything I need. Another question is, would it be fine to have 2 subs on top the box, with the port in the middle, and they share it? Guest Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 you need more port area dude. you're at 14sqin and you need between 27 and 36. make the ports larger until the port area number reaches somewhere between the port area range spectrum. Guest Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) I was able to get the Hz at 35 and the port Sqin in the range, but the only problem is that I had to double the length of my port, which is double the actual length of my box. many boxes have ports that bend (such as mine). its perfectly fine and it allows you to extend the port. google L Ported boxes for an idea edit: and you have to put in a number for "# of common port walls". put 1 if the port touches 1 side of the box, 2 if it touches 2 sides, 3 if it touches 3 sides.
