pektel
What's up, guys! Name's Pete. New guy with a new sub. DC LVL 4 D2. It's replacing a Directed SX12D4. Just thought it was time to upgrade after getting a mor powerful amp (Directed D2400). Anyways, I am wanting advice on a ported box (single 4" aeroport). I know the suggested volume is listed as 1.5 cubes, but to me that doesn't seem optimal. Here's what I'm working with: 2000 Lincoln LS V8 Sport, trunk space limitations: 37" wide, 14" high, depth is open. single DC LVL 4 12", dual 2 ohm VC's Directed D2400 amp (1200w rms @ 1 ohm) Anyways, I've never built a subwoofer enclosure before. I have built a few cabinets. I will be building the box from 11 ply 3/4 birch. Just wondering what volume is optimal for a trunk enclosure for this driver. I've had suggestions of 2.5 cubes tuned to 34 hz. Hope to learn alot from here. And, some pics of the car and the sub, just for fun Edited April 5, 2011 by pektel
