3kout Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 I'm looking at upgrading my stock wiring in my car, the thing is I know how to do it, and what wires there SHOULD be, I've found the positive to the alternator, and the negative ground to the chasis, but I can't find any wire for the engine block to the chasis, and there's only one wire from the negative on the battery so the engine block isn't grounded there either. I've also noticed there's a bolt with a ring terminal on my chasis, but no wire, could it of been removed delibrately or accidently? or would my car not work without the engine block ground?, I've been searching for hours and can't find any other ground wires anywhere!

3kout Posted April 10, 2011 Author Report Posted April 10, 2011 It's a renualt clio, 2000 model I believe. And I was thinking of making my own, would grounding to anywhere on the engine block work? some bolts look rather important and I don't want my engine dropping to the floor when I take it out
