silicone sunroof closed?

I'm having some major rattling/pressure leaking from my sunroof. I don't use it too much right now but I don't want to totally make it so I can't use it again. Some people were saying to put a thin bead of silicone on the weatherstrip to help hold it secure. Would I b able to peel it off later if I wanted to or will it ruin the weatherstrip on the roof?

I used silicone on mine caus eit leaks when it rains. It doesn't stop the rattle, maybe it's cause I didn't use enough
