It's really nothing about class, its more of how much rms is the amp rated for. A Class D amplifier is more efficient compared to a Class A/B amplifier therefore you can draw more current using a Class D amplifier. With a Class D amplifier one run of 1/0 gauge wire may suffice but with a Class A/B amplifier you will definitely need two runs of 1/0 gauge. Uhm. no. You can draw the same amount of current, only the power comming out of the amp will be lower.(but new class a and class D amps are comparable in efficiency..) It's about how many amps the amp will draw, to know that easily just check the fuses on the amp and make sure the wire can handle it easily. Quote Thinking is the root of all problems...
