Bumpindemlowzz
Here are some of the products i was looking into for my budget build. I was looking at the DDR3 2000 by G.Skill but dont know how much of a benefit it would be versus what i have selected looking for 8g to begin with but will end up with 16gb total ram. Im a total computer newb so i would like to know if there's anything im missing and compatibility issues?! I would also like someone to suggest a video card for 120-150.00 with a hdmi slot for my monitor. thank you for any help and i have a friend that can put it all together. Computer main use is minor video editing and internet surfing. would like to stay under 650 total not including video card and extra 8gigs ram. S15_Silvia
Before looking at your parts, let me tell you this. Changing RAM speed (say from 1600MHz to 2000MHz) will not have a very appreciable impact on day-to-day activities, unless you're running benchmarks all day. The AMD 1100T is the same price on Newegg as it is as TigerDirect. I've been dealing with Newegg since 2005, and have had seamless transactions every time. The only thing I have an issue with is the ASUS motherboard. They seem to have been having some QC issues lately, but that's not to say the board you buy will be a failure. However, every single Gigabyte board I've bought or installed has been rock solid. May I recommend this: Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H And as for a video card, here's what I came up with: Gigabyte GTX 550Ti It's at the top of your budget range, but the 550Ti has been pretty well received. S15_Silvia
The Cooler Master Hyper 212 is a tremendous upgrade over stock cooling for a pretty good price. I'd also recommend Xigmatek, Prolimatech, and Thermalright, but those are more expensive. Hyper 212 On second thought, the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is actually less expensive than the 212 right now. I run one on a Core 2 Duo E8500 @4.13GHz, so it definitely does the job. Bumpindemlowzz
Anyone else have any input on this? I may consider getting a upgraded powersupply MOBO Because of video editing would i benefit from crossfirex? If so ill get that board or simular and this card maybe GPU Also i purchased Adobe CS5 which is video editing software and sense then i lost my registration key info so my question is would i simply be able to copy the files somehow from this computer to my new computer? If so what would be the process? Edited April 15, 2011 by Bumpindemlowzz Quote 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
S15_Silvia
Definitely recommend the Antec PSU. The other one isn't 'bad,' but the Antec has an active PFC that cleans up the power some. xStatezOfMindZx
Crossfire is for AMD aka Radeon video cards. You can not do Nvidia cards via Crossfire, they use SLI. Your CPU and RAM will give you more bang for the buck verse videocard! Since you are going to spend $650 you can not get more bang for your buck based upon the previous posts. 2011 480$ Budget Gaming Rig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afKIBJ3zC7M This will cover your needs.
