nickers
i went to the wrecking yard today tossed open the hood of a 94 plymouth sundance and to my complete suprise there strapped to the block was a almost brand new looking refurb alternator. yes it might only be stock but i got it for super cheap. anyways. i noticed as i was pulling it out it had what looked like oil on the stator and fan, i took it apart and its also on the armature as well, but not very much. so my question would be what can i use to clean the insides, i know water is out, unless i use small amounts and then bake it in an oven to get it all out after. i read that brake cleaner would work too. can anyone verify this? chevrolet all day er day. nickers
along side the little bit of oil there was a build up of carbon around the pulley, is this something to be worried about? could possibly be burnt oil but just asking to make sure chevrolet all day er day.
