akrja_07 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 This should be quick and easy... I am trying to do a box for 2 subs, port in the middle, everything facing back to look like this. I am confused when it comes to the ports. Is there not supposed to be a piece of wood running parallel to the back of the box, to make sort of an L shape inside the box? If so, where do I enter those numbers? And when it is asking for length, that's the piece that connects to the front, and goes torwards the back right? And width is going to be the actual opening on the front of the box between the subs right? Lastly, I enter 2 in the field that asks for # of common port walls? Sorry I'm used to the RE calculator. 2001 Chevy Silverado Ext. cab - Kenwood KIV-BT901 - 2x 12" DC Audio level 3 m2D1 in 4.2 cuft. @29Hz. - DC Audio 2.0k - Alpine Type-X components - US Amps USA-4300x - XS Power D4700 - Bosch 145a alternator
Sammitch0 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 common port walls is the walls the port connects to if you do an l bend port youll have 1 common wall. and yes if your port calls for 22" depth and you only have a 18" depth box youll need to l bend that 4 inches.
