Component System Vs 3-Ways

What's the difference between component and 2 & 3 -ways speakers. are having external tweeters have any advantage over a 3-way speaker with it built in?

Ill be running 5 1/4 2-ways or 5 1/4 component systems and 6x9's in the back.

With components you can set your sound stage up better. Bring the vocals up to ear level where they should be and keep the midbass lower. Three way components do the same except now you can really set your sound stage right since the midrange and tweet will be your main stage up high at ear level and the midbass can be in the doors and such and not be as noticeable to where it's location is producing the sound.

Now coax speakers have the same "idea", minus being able to aim your sound stage correctly, and usually not the same quality though and cheaper inline crossovers that can make some things sound sloppy and such.
