How much can 4 DC lvl 5 10's handle?

Recommended Posts

Did you read Dustins response? If the box was too big for 3500wrms, why would you add 8000wrms?

The bigger the box, the less power the sub will take.

he said 4 3500's

2007 caliber

2 Fi ssd 18's

rd audio 3250

xs power d3100 (need 2 more)

stock alt (soon to be singer 350a)

2.75:1 4th order in progress!

I could always make the box a little smaller. Dont want to lose all of my trunk but the box builder guy would know what to do and how big to make it based on the input I would give him of how much power I was going to run to them. Im going to start with 1 3500 and 2 of the 10s until I can afford the rest. I just wanted to have a so called end game system in mind. Buying my batteries and wire and an alternator soon so I want to know what the final product will be so I can do the alt and battery and wire upgrades accordingly.

Yeah, 3500+ wrms per sub. If he got 5500Ds instead, he would have 8000+ more watts.

I was thinking 1 3500 per sub originally but those amps just 3500 watts. The old Crescendo Audio 3Kp was over 4000 watts RMS at 14.4 at .5 ohm. Since the BC 3500 is 500 more watts Im guessing the new amp will be around 4500 watts RMS at 14.4 at .5 ohm. That would be around 9000 watts per pair strapped up. If the box was perfect that would still be too much?

You do realize that you probably aren't going to see remotely close to rms, so the 500watt difference in power rating won't make a difference in a daily driver, right? That doesn't mean you can just throw an enormous amp on it though.

For now, I think you should run the 2 5500Ds

no he'd be on less power 4* 3500= 14000, 2* 5500= 11000

No, I was talking about 4 3500Ds vs 4 5500Ds.

4 3500Ds= 14000wrms

4 5500Ds= 22000wrms

22000-14000= 8000wrms.

I misread the post. I thought it said 4 5500Ds. My b

Yeah I love big systems but 4 5500's is a little bit extreme HAHA! Im almost positive I can only fit 1 alternator in that car so thats a factor also. I was curious by what ya meant that I wouldn't see close to RMS? Howcome?

Voltage drop, impedance rise, wire resistance, etc. This is in a daily driver, so I probably should have even mentioned it.
