Top plate separation

I have 2 18" level 4's w level 5 coils, I've had them for maybe 3 years. Will cruising during derby in Louisville I heard A sound like wood slapping together so my cone was stiff and didn't move so I tore it apart cause I was going to recone them anyway and I noticed the top plate had broken loose and was now magnatised to the center pole of the motor assembly. I've separated the motor from the top plate and cleaned them up; is there a specific glue that I have to use to reattach the motor to the top plate? I bought some that supose to bond metals. I don't want to but his new cone in and have it separate again.
