Drill 2 holes to the opposite side of the port and use grade 8 bolts and nuts to connect wires to the outside.. I am doing this when I get my box cut for me a the lumberyard.... I have noticed tons of people doing that, I personally recommend making yourself binding posts. I used bolts,washers, and nuts to build mine. The plan is to drill a hole slightly smaller than the bolt and use silicon washers on both ends to ensure a better seal between the nuts on the wood... Or you could caulk it before tightening it down fully...
