3-Way Component Brand Questions

To be perfectly honest, I've never really heard much about either of them. I currently have a 12" JL W7, 6.5" Infinity Reference Components in the doors, 5.25" JL Components in the kick panels, and Infinity Reference 4x6" Coaxials in the dash. I'm looking for a 3-Way Component set-up to replace the Infinity's. I want something louder, and with more high's. Putting the 6.5" speaker and the 1" tweeter in the door, and the 4" speakers from the 3-Way Component system is my plan. Having the dash ones amped should help. I just don't want to shell out the money on something I'm not going to be happy with. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I know someone is doing a pretty big build using 02 speakers for the mids and highs, if i can find the build log i'll ask the guy for ya

whats your budget? Dynaudio and Rainbow make really nice 3way sets but your gonna pay for them

for $400 you can get a pretty damn sweet passive if you build your own

if you have room for 8's and 6.5's run them you will be glad you did other wise this is what I suggest

A 3-way set up is normally used to optimize a SQ build. From your picture and the sounds like you have an s10. If you are looking to get louder, you may want to invest in just going active electronic crossover and lose the passives for the components in the door and kick. It may require picking up another amp for the highs or just the 4x6. Now for SQ imaging and depth this is really not recommended. However, to pick up volume I am sure you'll me more than happy

4'' midranges actually stage well in the dash, I would mount tweeters with them in the dash as well though. then put 6.5's in door. it's how I had my blazer

edit: it might be easier to use 4'' coax in the dash then use 6.5 midbass in doors. as long as you seal them in right it will sound great

Hummm 4ohm 3-way componets... I might just get a door build after all...
