Nissan Titan build w/ SA15 UNDER the rear seat! -VOTE FOR ME JULY SOTM!!-

Recommended Posts

nice truck... looks good so far... as much as i love truck builds... there is just never enough room in them...i woulda said... 1. blow throughor 2. remove the backseats... lol... thats what i did... was able to get 14 cubes... lolbut i understand that you need the back seats...ever worked with fiberglass?im sure you can get a cube with the a fiber glass enclosurewhy not get 2 sa 10s?
I can do fiberglass, but I'm not great with it, and I hate working with it. LolThe seat angle will be much better with the new seat lift, and there is more legroom than it appears in the pic, I think the angles make the box look like it's sticking further out.The reason for not doing 2 10's? It has been done before. That I know of no one else has tried to put a single 15" under the seat. I like being different.

right on...

i wna see pics of the seat lifts when you getting them installed...

My first truck... My first Real build...

bro i love your truck it looks sick and why did you not just make th box flat instead of having the sit angled

There is an illusion in the pic of more room than I actually have to work with. It's TIGHT under there, and flat would never get me the 8" I need depth wise for the SA15 and be able to get the airspace properly. I experimented with 3 different enclosure designs with my last setup and this style put out the best performance. The reason the seat is at such a crazy angle is because of how I had to do the seat lift. The seat is still 1/4" above the box in most of the places, and 1/2" or so at the end. I was unable to find the half metric size bolts in the correct length to do the full lift at the bottom like I had planned without ordering them from Fastenal so I had to only do a little at the mount, then add the rest at the pivot point (Where the seat base rests and locks) and because of the extra distance there it is holding the seat at more of an angle. I'll be redoing that as soon as I can order the bolts and do my full seat lift at the mounts. When I do the seat will be at the stock angle again.

ohh ok ya that makes since it looks good still are you gonna paintg the box or carpet it or something

Probably going to rock it this way till I get my electrical finished up, and get caught up on side work. I've got a buddy that does CNC work I'm going to have him cut me out the spacers for the mounts out of 2", and everything for it, then hit up Fastenal for the bolts. Not really a priority as of right now, and for what he charges me I don't really want to rush him. For now it's still comfortable and has good leg room, plus no one ever sits back there so it's still useful.

Haven't 100% decided on what I'm covering the box with it. I know the protruding section will have foam added that contours down from the seat and is covered in the same cloth as the seats, other than that I may bedline it, or carpet it the same as the carpet in the truck.

Not a big update, but got a Kenwood KAC6485 for free from a buddy to run my mids/highs. Will be working on getting it in within the next few weeks.

I think I'm clipping ever so slightly. After about 2 hours of playing and 2 demos I could feel just the slightest warmth on the cone, I think it's more due to my lack of electrical. Planning to upgrade that all within the next week or so.

New pics tomorrow. Going to finish up the mids amp install. Also picked up a black shallow top UWS toolbox to function as storage/battery box. It's all coming along. also got my 2" spacers for the seat lift, and the 1/4" plate to make the middle mount. Just have to get bolts now, and notch the seat arms so the box will sit under the seat completely.
