Nissan Titan build w/ SA15 UNDER the rear seat! -VOTE FOR ME JULY SOTM!!-

Recommended Posts

This thread is just to kind of get things started on this build. Have ALOT of things to change around, alot of the current setup is temporary. Just trying to get something playing by the car show season around here.

Current Equipment List:

-Jensen VM9311TS (I know, I know. It will be hitting the shitcan soon, only reason it hasn't yet is because the kids like watching movies on trips, only reason I even put it in. Will be replacing SOON).

-Quantam Audio tweeters

-Boston 6.5's in all 4 doors (Will be replaced by a good midbass & amp setup soon.)

Here is where it gets fun:

-Sundown SA15D2 UNDER the rear set. 3.25 net, 35hz. (Box will protrude 3" from the edge of the seat, but when I finish covering it I will be adding pillow foam cut to contour from the seat to the box, then covering it to match to make it seem like an extension of the seat when the seat is down)

-Audiopipe AP150001D running @ 1 ohm (On it's way here now)

UPDATED list:

-Same Jensen HU

-Same Boston door speakers

-Memphis tweeters in dash and rear doors

-Kenwood KAC-6485 on mids/highs

-Sundown SA15D2 in 3.25 net at 35hz

-AQ2200D at the moment (It's my buddy's debating on buying it)

-Mean Green 240 amp alt

-Big 3 in 1/0

-SVR AGM battery under hood and another in toolbox (Still need to do some runs of 1/0 and hook up the toolbox battery.)

-KnuKonceptz 8awg to mid/high amp

-KnuKonceptz 1/0 to AQ2200D

-KnuKonceptz RCA's

Right now all the amp wiring is temporary, just kind of thrown in. It's a Stinger 4awg kit I picked up second hand a while back. Soon will be doing all 1/0 on the big 3, and 1/0 to the back with a Kinetik.

I won't bore you to death anymore, here are some pics:

1.25" seat lift (Gained .75 at the pivot with furniture pads, the other .5" came at the mounts (Ignore the rats nest, the enclosure will hide it when it's in, then when I go 1/0 I will actually spend the time to properly run it):

SA15 (I was going to be a baller and use a $100 for the size comparison, then I realized I have kids, and just bought the damn thing... it will be a while before I see another $100 Lol):

229373_131413400267440_129634487111998_225569_4949548_n.jpg

Box on it's side (56" wide, only reason I can make this setup work. That's the short side before finish work facing the camera. Those are not gaps, just sealant that seeped out of the seem during assembly. It will be sanded and prettied up soon):

Sub in box (Sub will downfire, has approx 3.5" between the lowest point and the floor, may raise it more when I see how it performs at this height):

224149_131551856920261_129634487111998_226778_6159178_n.jpg

That's all I have for now, will update more when the amp comes in, wiring comes in, and I have time to work with it. Having 2 kids under 2, being in EMT school, working full time, and doing practicals it's EXTREMELY difficult to find time to work on it. Updates may be kind of slow.

Try not to be too harsh, it's all pretty well temporary. It will be pretty when it's finished!

Thanks. I've got the box sitting in place now, had to make some 3/4" spacers for under the front legs to gain a little more room for the sub, may still end up going slightly bigger so it has the rear seat at more of an angle than I had planned or would like. Will likely redo the seat lift with more lift at the mounts soon. I'll try to get pics up tonight.

Slipped my mind to post a pic of the truck itself. Here it is:

181590_10150114741061880_502151879_6350814_779200_n.jpg

It's usually alot cleaner than it is in the pic, that was back this winter during all the bad weather we were getting.

Truck mods include:

-PRG Mini lift (2.5/1.5)

-315/70R17 BFG All Terrains on black PC'd stock XE wheels

-15% tint all around, 35% entire windshield, 10" strip of 5%

-Magnaflow high flow cats, no secondary cats, 3" straight pipe exiting identical to stock (All coated in high temp black grill paint)

-Modified stock airbox + K&N

-BDGT

-2* timing advance

-Curt Class IV hitch

Pretty sure that's most of it. It's a daily driver, nothing special.

Ok here's another update for the day...

Box in place:

Have some finish sanding to do on the port, but you get the picture. Box can also slide back about another 1.5" so the amount of leg room lost is minimal. You can also see the temporary spacers I had to add until I get the seat lift worked out how I'd like it.

View from the front:

You can see the extra external baffle I added. This helped not only get a little extra mounting depth but also remove some of the sub displacement from the main inner structure of the box to help me get the correct airspace.

Other side:

Seat is actually sitting on a screwdriver in this pic, didn't notice till after... Doh!

There is an illusion in the pic of more room than I actually have to work with. It's TIGHT under there, and flat would never get me the 8" I need depth wise for the SA15 and be able to get the airspace properly. I experimented with 3 different enclosure designs with my last setup and this style put out the best performance. The reason the seat is at such a crazy angle is because of how I had to do the seat lift. The seat is still 1/4" above the box in most of the places, and 1/2" or so at the end. I was unable to find the half metric size bolts in the correct length to do the full lift at the bottom like I had planned without ordering them from Fastenal so I had to only do a little at the mount, then add the rest at the pivot point (Where the seat base rests and locks) and because of the extra distance there it is holding the seat at more of an angle. I'll be redoing that as soon as I can order the bolts and do my full seat lift at the mounts. When I do the seat will be at the stock angle again.

I can do fiberglass, but I'm not great with it, and I hate working with it. Lol

The seat angle will be much better with the new seat lift, and there is more legroom than it appears in the pic, I think the angles make the box look like it's sticking further out.

The reason for not doing 2 10's? It has been done before. That I know of no one else has tried to put a single 15" under the seat. I like being different.
