z_ro
Since this is been a long going debate... it depends on what you are trying to chop. If you want dj screw/swishahouse chops then you are chopping the beat. all you need is a turntable emulator like Virtual Dj or mixvibes pro. SPLWGN
with practice im sure it will work.....ive only done 2 songs chopped and screwed and at some points they dont sound right at other points its really good....but i use audacity and i'm getting there so it just takes time, its more or less just copy, delete, paste....have a listen to what ive done so far to get an idea of what it sounds like just remember these are my first attempts haha C-Murder - Ya'll Heard Of Me Ying Yang Twins - Whistle While You Twurk CHOPPED & SCREWED (kinda) IMO just try some songs and see how you do Edited May 17, 2011 by SPLWGN

BigPimpin91
When I first got into the C&S game I was using Audacity. It's way fuckin' hard and time consuming but possible. Just look for peaks in the song where hi hats or snares hit. And measure the space between the two. The counter at the bottom will tell you how many seconds. Memorize that number. Then find a portion you want to chop. Highlight the amount of time you figure in the previous step and hit CTRL - X. Now leave the cursor where it is but use the pointer finger to drag it over the equal amount of time and hit CTRL - V. Voila! BigPimpin91
Don't mean to thread jack but is it possible to make a sweep with audacity Not really. You could make a 50hz tone and slowly highlight individual portions of it and change speed but you'll still have the instant effect of note change versus drop. tlee2
Oh ok. Would you happen to know where I can find one about 45hz-35hz? Not too long like 30 seconds or so Quote 6 Sundown X 15s 2 Sundown NS1 V2s C Pillar 4th order Bagged Suburban on 24s http://youtube.com/tlee333
