so, im doing a friends system, and im getting mind fucked, he has a 2002 infiniti i35,

powerbass 12's(? might be 10's) not sure what model, d4 coils

Hifonics 2010d bxi(?) idr, its my old amp O.o

STOCK h/u with a line driver (where the problem might lie)

now, he had one of those new compact 330.2 powerbass amps(now mine i traded + cash) and his subs worked fine, but that thing got hotter then a frying pan, so i traded him my old amp, but i wired him down to 1 ohm, a lil overkill for those subs but i wasent gunna crank the gain to where it should be, i was gunna back it off

the amp turns on, then ill get little to no sound coming from the woofers, i double/triple/quadruple checked the wiring on the woofers and its right, i cant figure this shit out for the life of me, the ground is using a stock bolt which holds down some plate of sorts, sanded down paint yada yada, 4gauge wire, but he has a line driver which was installed by a local shop since he was and idiot when he dident come to me since i would have installed everything for 200$ less then what they charged him, i replaced the 8g wire they had with my spare 4g, other then that i dident mess with anything aside from wireing the subs to 1 ohm

i also tried wiring a single sub to 4ohm and i got the same thing, i checked the coils on the woofers and nothing, i also switched the amps and it was the same thing, im lost here, any help?

Check line driver for settings and check that its hooked up properly. Local shop here messed around with mine when i took it in after it was installed

theres two gain(?) knobs on it Left and Right, but i dident touch it until i had to find out where the fuck they put it, dident play with it though i just unhooked and rehooked the rcas, assholes tossed it into the truck and spliced into the wires there, wasting 15ft of rca's -.-

i just need to get this figured out, ive spent 6 hours now trying to figure this out, i feel like an idiot, and its making me look stupid lol

I know you said you "checked" the wiring but did you actually try any other configs? Try to wire one sub opposite to what you have it now. I did an install a while back and I wired everything up right. Turns out the terminals were on the sub woofer wrong. Positive was actually neg on one sub.

im gunna do that when he gets here, thats what happend with mine but the person who i bought the subs from put allen key terminals in place of the push ones, but who knows, ill try that, any other ideas aside from wiring/line driver?
