JWBryant Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Ok i have two Dual brand amps and they are hooked into a Dual headunit I have recently been trying to clean up the setup so it will look nicer. and I tried to hook up power to the amps and they will not turn on they are properly grounded and everything it is simply the remote turn on that is not working. I know this because if I bridge the positive and the remote the amp lights up. The remote turn on was not working in the back so I then tried to hook it up to the ignition switch that the radio was hooked up to and it worked.., soon this didnt work either but, the radio still turned on so it has to be something on the amp. Should I be using different size wire, or something? Any help is greatly appreciated. Basshead-in-Training
89boxchevy Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 it sounds like u have a bad remote wire run a new wire to the amps and make sure that its hooked up to the blue wire with the white stripe on the back of the headunit 89 Chevy Caprice (is under construction) dual alts 4/0 welding cable for wire red top under hood 3 yellow tops behind the front seat ( who needs a back seat anyways lol) big 3 of course Eclipse 3000 interiors are getting rebuilt now 2 crescendo bc2000 2 shocker sig 12s rebuild pics

JWBryant Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 Ok it stopped wworking again so I changed the wires again. Yes it worked again, so then I unkooked it and ran it under the plastic coverings on my truck to the amp, pluged it in and it didn't work again. The wire is fine it just doesnt seem to be conducting the electrical current provided by the ignition. I have this wire next to rca cables and some speaker wires, the +positive is on the other side. I can take pictures if I need to but that is what the problem is. Basshead-in-Training

It just so happens that if I connected the wire with electrical tape it didn't conduct the current for some odd reason. So I used a connector pinched the wires on and now it is conducting electricity... Bad electrical tape I guess. Thanks for the Help Basshead-in-Training
