need DJ system for fraternity house

Recommended Posts

Yeah stores like that tend to overcharge for audio gear as most people wouldnt know a lot about it.

You could get a system cheaper than you might think, and yeah mixers can run for a lot but that would be for multi speaker set ups in clubs and stuff,

All you need is say a 16 band mixer, such as that > http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Mackie-CFX16-mkII-Mixer?sku=634272

For amps Id have to agree go with crown, them things almost never heat, ive used a 20kw set up with all crown amps and ran it for 10 hours straight and they didnt even get hot. Plus they come with usb connectivity so you can monitor them with a laptop.

Then you`ll need 2 way speakers,

And finally the bass cabs.

http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/JBL-JRX118S-18-Compact-Subwoofer-Pair?sku=600349

You might need another amplifier to run the subs.

But just as an example that ^ will run to $3250

Even if you add another crown xti1000 its run to $3600.

Just use that as an example as what you can get for your money =]

i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah..

You want this to happen to you? Give decent handshakes people.

I was gifted with an innate ability to distribute wholesale ass beatings in a timely and orderly fashion.

I don't like the sound of the JRX's. They lack some of the upper HF's and sound awfully flat to me. Like I said, got a quote of the EV ELX 112P's & 118P's for around $2400. That would work great for anything they need (I'm getting the same thing too :yahoo: )

Really? I think they sound pretty good if they`re eq`d decently, but then again there could be better speakers out there for less money that I dont know about =]

They're okay if you EQ them, but I think that quote for a set of active speakers is an incredible deal. Just add mixer/EQ/cables & go.
