Hotdog Posted May 30, 2011 Report Share Posted May 30, 2011 Went to visit my bother and sister in law in Indiana this weekend and seen that there was a Meca 3x event in Benton Harbor Michigan so I talked my brother-in-law into going since he had never been to a car audio show. I went ahead an entered my wides equinox into the event and I wad classified in amateur street 2 since it was the first Meca Competition for the Equinox. Got second place with a 136.6db. But the real story was this guy named Tommy I believe. While I was scoping out the other cars I seen this S-10 down on the corner with a guy working on changing out boxes and woofers for the competition so I went and checked it out. Tommy was using Sundown audio. I got to see the baby 8's and he was changing out from 3 8's to 1 10" Sundown. I kinda knew he would be loud just by how much he was working with the ports and of course duck tape. But I had no idea how loud he would be. So Tommy pulls into the lane to get metered and puts up a 152.6 That's right a 152.6 off one sa-10 it just blew my mind. To top it off he did it at like 43hz so its not just a burp box. Later on he competed in park and pound and pulls off a 129 something off of one 10" Sundown audio. And I did get it on video... I am still in Indiana right now so when I get home I will post the video of this. I did congratulate Tommy and told him I was very impressed with the numbers he was pulling with just 1 sa-10. Yea it was also my first comp ive been to, I opened a shop in southwest michigan about 4 months ago and thought id see what it was about. Works out oddly cause i contacted Sundown last week about becoming a dealer then i go and see this guy. Ive done audio for over 12 years just not on the comp level.
