TeamHT Posted May 31, 2011 Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 It's the voicecoil configuration for the driver. I assume we are talking about the Orion HCCAs. They come in D(ual) 2 ohm voicecoils, and D(ual) 4 ohm voicecoils. For two D4 subs, wire the coils in parallel and then the speakers in parallel to get a 1 ohm nominal impedance at the amp. If you're talking about the 12.2 compared to the 12.4 they are the same sub, just different voicecoil configurations to give you different wiring options.
