P4killer_ Posted June 4, 2011 Report Share Posted June 4, 2011 So after my XFL decided to unglue shit brix awhile back of course the amp protected I killed the power nuff said. Today was really my first amount of free time in awhile thanks to work and I decided to just toss in a dual 2 CompVR i got chillin in the garage. The install was straight forward, took the amp out of stroage, hooked up. Put all the fuses back in connected all up turned the gain allll the way down hehe. Checked my impeadence at the amp, 1.1 ohms all good to go. power up, amp protects or rather flashes 3 times (theres an led backlight if you will) meaning short circuit... im like wtf... so the amp cycles and does the exact same thing blinks 3 times again.. and your can hear like an atari kinda dododododoooo feedback through the speakers when the amps cycles and again protects.. i turned the car off, checked my fuses and connections... all good. checked the deck settings all good the fuse from bat to amp looked a little wierd ie:. its still intact however its blue and purple ish a lil part like a burn on metal... i switched the fuse, no dice. I checked the impeadence on the sub and i got no reading... ehhh fuck i didnt however take it out and double check though as i had things to do. I pulled the remote and fuses and packed the amp up. I took some snap shots of the board.. lemme know what you think. this is the only noticeable thing i saw. P4killer_ Posted June 4, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 4, 2011 BTW its a Clarion DPX11500 Im pretty sure its fucked, and also i powered it up without a sub hooked up as if somehow it blow the perfectly fine comp that woulda been the short and also no dice. I got a DD3512 coming in on monday and really dont want this amp chewing that up too unless we can somehow rectify the sitiaaaation.
