97SSBlazer
do you think you'll have to build it inside the trunk? I don't know how you'll get a box with enough surface for 5 12s through the opening... But I'm all in. btw what's the outer dimensions of the box with the Fi 18? I wanna know how how big I *can* squeeze through the opening for my'03 build. I was gonna mock up a fake box out of cardboard but I don't have cardboard that big. The BTL box was 35Wide X 34Deep X 13 Tall. HOPEFULLY this box will be 35.5 X 35.5 X 14 I just hope it fits. 5 12's on 3300 watts RMS should POUND. Thanks guys, I have my first car show the 18th so its time to build Quote lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz. -= 2005 Tahoe LT =-Head unit: Pioneer AVH-X5500BHSSource: iPad Mini in dash Subs: 2 T1 12's Sub Amp: T1500-1bdCPWire: Rockford Fosgate 1/0 awgSignal Cable: MonsterFronts:Stock Bose for now:)Rears: Stock Bose for now:)MIds/High amp: Stock Bose for now:) 2005 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/172529-2005-tahoe-my-17th-vehicle/ 2001 Monte Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/160030-2001-monte-carlo-my-16th-car-lol/page-2#entry25309381997 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemead...oe-6-15-rf-15s/2001 Impala Build Log: http://www.stevemead...katzkin-inside/
Guest
The manual suggests 1 to 2 GROSS. Im not saying they cant go bigger.... I will be running mine at 1.4 net/ 1.7 Gross. I will be slighly over powering them so I didnt want a huge box.... manual is wrong. talk to Ray or James on here. i remember one of them saying that the 12's like 2.5cuft a piece or something a long the lines of that. i'd trust them over some piece of paper. also, the manual states that the port needs to have like 9sqin of port per cubic foot or some bullshit like that. you honestly think thats right? edit: oh and btw, before a mod tells you this, your sig picture is far too wide. Louisiana Bass
You'd be able to get better results if you give the subs the proper space. More cone area doesn't matter if your box isn't big enough for the subs needs. Quote N8. No homo...unless you want there to be.

The manual wants 15^2 each, I know thats not much but I build boxes all the time to that and they sound good. Like I stated above I have built 2 other cars both with 4 12's using this formula and both with great results. My buddy has 4 R's on 1 T1500-bd @ 1800 watts and hits 143.6 so thats pretty good Id like to to 145 but who knows. I get them cheap so maybe after this coming show I will build a BIG box for 2 of them and see how it works. Its just MDF so why not play? Quote lower tuning is just hard. Quiet
looks good, bro. I'm watchin Quote 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.
Quiet
If you built it 35.5x35.5x14 outer dim with 3/4 in wood you'd have internal 8.35 cubes before displacement. With a port, bracing and sub displacement I'm thinking 7-ish cubes. Been a while since I built a box, though. Quote 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud. I wont have it metered until later this week but the Ear-O-Meter is impressed. The BTL 18 did 142.5 on music and BY EAR, this is louder, and more violent. Meter aside I'm pretty happy. I will add to my build log tomorrow Quote lower tuning is just hard.
