mikes819 Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 I hooked up my T1000.4 the other day but the positive power cable wasn't fully secured so the amp shut off and I tried to put it back it without disconnecting the fuse or battery and it sparked. Now the amp only powers up and the led indicators come on but the amp does not put out any sound. Is the amp just a really heavy paperweight now or can it be fixed easily?
Sammitch0 Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Put a DMM in the speaker outputs on the amplifier and see if it reads any voltage. Personally I NEVER remove fuses/cables/wires I just shut my vehicle off and have never had an amp go. Does it protect? did you have the pos/neg wires crossed? mikes819 Posted June 8, 2011 Author Report Posted June 8, 2011 I know I learned my lesson now I will definitely disconnect the battery or pull the fuse. It does not go into protect it just turns on normally and has the regular power light on and the pos/neg wires are not crossed. Where can I get a DMM to read the output voltage?
