I'm set on getting SA 10's or 12's. Debating on 4 SA-10's in ~5 cube box at 30 Hz, or 3 SA-12's in a similiar box with an 6" aero to the side with 3-4 inches of open space on drivers side, or two 4" aeros to the back of the hatch . Car is 2000 cougar hatchback.. gonna be pushing a crescendo bc3500 hopefully by the end of summer. Money is tight, so was wondering if the cone area of the 12's would be able to match up with the 10's well? I'm sure the SA-12's will be able to handle the 1000-1300 watts, but I wont play them that loud everyday.

Again, I'm trying to get another part time job so I can pay for all this stuff, but I have a BTL 15 I will sell to pretty much trade for the SA's. Any recommendations would be awesome, thanks! :woot:

Oh and shooting for 147+ :)

I would personally do 4 10s, because you could spread the power out more will 4 instead of 3. Plus it would handle the power better daily than the 3.

Jeep Cherokee 4dr -4.75 in front, new rusty's 4.5 in rear leafs -micky thompson 35x14.50x15 -locker rear -Rusty's offroad Engine/transmission/transfer case/crossmember/gas tank skid plates -Warn front bumper with 8000lb winch -Custom rear bumper -Warrior product tube doors (summertime) -Optima redtop (starter) -26XK miles and still runs like a bat out of hell

Yeah they would last longer too and I could wire to 1 ohm instead of messing with .66 or 1.33 thats without all the other variables as well, so each woofer would likely be seeing 7-800 watts-ish. (four 10's)

4 10's- more cone.

Within the same line of subs, three 12's will have a little more cone area. Just going by the Fi Q, you have 1240cm^2 for four 10's, and 1440cm^2 for three 12's.

I say three 12's it's more cone area and power handling won't really matter since your only going to be 1.33 ohms instead of a full 1 ohm( power going to each woofer will roughly be the same due to impedance change).
