korey_hofer
the only way to do it (imo) is active on full eq to get rid of the distortion and harshness. and remember they are pa midranges so they will play higher than normal midbass drivers will play for given size previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme. I talk shit on other forums like a little bitch and hope i don't get caught out on the street.
smgreen20
I would say they have good mid RANGE, but not mid BASS. I tried a set and hated them. I actually have them still as I can't get rid of the d@mn things. I used them all of 2 days, maybe 5 hrs of use total. One has a hole in it as of course, the drill slipped off as I was removing them. Our local installer ran them and his sounded good, didn't think to have him turn of the the 10's he has in the door as well. Their low end extension sucks in my book. As soon as he turned the 10's off it was exactly what I was experiencing in my set up. His 6's were x'ed over at 120Hz HP, 10's from 120 to 60, 15's from 60 down. I'm trying to sell them still if anyone wants them. They're the 8 ohm versions. $35 shipped for the pair to the main 48 states only. I'm happy as a clam with my Silver Flutes, at least they can play down to 60 Hz w/o ANY problems off of 150 watts. www.phoenixphorum.com Setup HU: Eclipse AVN6620 Amp: Audison LRx5.1k Mids: 6 1/2" Silver Flute's Tweets: Clarion SSS601 No rears Subs: (2) TREO SSi12.22's Processing: Audio Control DQS, Phoenix Gold BassCube Clarion Collector HEAD UNITS: 7770 w/920EQ w/2nd 920EQ display ADCS-1 w/CDC605 5780CD DRX9375r w/DPH9300 DRX9575Rz w/DPH7500z* (*1 of2) DRX9675z (2X) AutoPC 310 HX-D10 w/DPH910 DXZ615 w/DPH7500z* (*2 of 2) CDC655 DRX8275 w/DPH9100 DRX7475 5632CD AMPS: A007-w 1800A A1200 A500 APA4200 APA4320 APX400.4M SPEAKERS: SSS601 (2X) SRC4650 SRC5752 SEC571 SEW5107
mlstrass
I'm looking to do 4 per door here also with a few of the morel silk dome tweets in a few weeks. why would you run PA mids with a silk dome tweeter? Run a supertweet or bullet as I would assume SQ isn't your goal with the PA mids. You'll need something louder to keep up with the mids...
mlstrass
I run 2 12's per door and they have some decent upper midbass punch, but no they will not play down to 60Hz as they're a midrange driver. Active with an 880 Pio, with a little EQ tweaking they can sound surprisingly good and get hella loud. I prefer the Crescendo XST's for $30pr shipped, pretty much identical to the Selenium super tweeter for around 1/2 the price.
