I wanted to instal these on my amp rack which is located Behind my back seats. This 5.25" set is for the front doors and was wondering if i installed the crossovers on the amp rack in the back and ran like 15 ft of speaker wire from the front to the back, and then back again would there be a delay in the sound, or is that fine? I don't know if 30 ft of speaker wire will produce a delay, or if its generally not a good idea. What are your thoughts on this? Any Other idea's? bumonskateboard6 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I usually mount crossovers on the doors to limit the distance from the crossover to the speaker, it's also a PAIN in the ass to run more than 1 speaker wire through the boot in the door. If I am mounting tweeters in the A pillar I put the crossover under the dash. How do they handle with water? because if i mount them to my doors and its pouting out... there obviously gonna get rained on. If I am mounting tweeters in the A pillar I put the crossover under the dash. x2 Although I have never had any issues running crossovers for the front doors in the trunk. Just as stated, you will have to run twice the amount of wire and it can be a bitch getting it through those rubber door boots. As for the water issue, try to mount them between the door skin and the door panel. Not always enough room tho. You could also take some plastic and cover them if you mount them between the door skins. Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C.
