HollyJohnson Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 i have a 97 chevy ext cab and want to put several speakers in the doors but i have concerns about blowing some of them. i am currently running a t600-4 on some focal polyglass comp's but i want to go back to rf t1,t2,or t3 and i want to run 2 sets in my doors and a pair of 4" power series on my a pillaras with one of the tweets for a better soundstage. my question is firstlydo you just run pos to pos and neg to neg until you get the 4 hooked in to everything. also how do you keep from blowing them since theyre hooked in with the t1 comp's? the 4's are 20 or 40 watts rms and the t1's are 100watts rms any links or search suggestions would be awesome thanx. i recently found this site and my hats off to all the hard work that goes into the sound found here!!

My Current Project: 2006 Ford Focus ST HU: Kenwood KDC-X986 Amps: Rockford Fosgate R300-4 Hifonics Brutus BXi 1601D Sub(s): (2) Skar VVX8 want to add 2x Mids/Highs: VXI65 components (front doors), RE Pro 5x7FR (rear doors) Wiring: Big 3 done in Candace 1/0 awg. 1 run from battery to distro-block 1/0 awg. Cadance wire 4 awg Stinger wire from distro-block to amps. Electrical: stock alt. Optima Red Top.
1sickpuppy Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 I'm running a similar set up where I have a set of smaller speaker that can take 50-70 watts and my comps take 100 watts. I run my front 4x6 on the front channel of my 4 channel amp so it's only a 4 ohm load and minimum power to the front and run the other pair of speakers parallel (pos to pos, neg to neg) on the rear channel of the amp. Since your running fosgate amps, power series?, your amp is stable down to 1ohm per channel. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. yeah man that does help,i guess im just gonna hav to get another 2 or 4 channel amp to run the setup i want.yesn i do have power series amps and will continue to run them.
