  1. I have a pair of VVX-8's in a 1.6ish cuf. Ported box tuned to 32hz. I like the sound quality of the sub( accurate/tight bass) and the ability to get low. I have them powered off a Hifonics BXI1610. It's a 1600 rms watt amp but realistically it's probably pushing 1200-1400rms. I have never really pushed them because running close to double the rated rms to them with my "bass knob" a quarter way up is enough for me. Hope this tiny bit of info helps. Kinda late but whatever.
  2. Thanks guys. Skar calls for .75-1 cft per driver. I want it tuned to 34hz or so. I appreciate the input.
  3. I bought a pair of VVX8's and they are sitting on my dining room table. I would like them in the trunk of my car. Can some one please point me in the right direction as far as what net box volume I should have. How much port area I should have for optimum output for music? I don't want a one note wonder box. I'm going to give my subs 1100 watts so power is not an issue. Thanks for the input.
  4. what's up all? I've been lurking on this post for a while, but have yet to chime in. Anyway I'm in Lancaster. The K1 in Ontario is closest to me 1.5 hrs away. K1 in Torrance is 2.5-3 hrs. I'm in no way loud or care to be but I am down to listen to some loud cars. If a date can be set I'm willing to drive. I don't have any DC gear will I be ridiculed and stoned to death if I show up? My little set up is sitting in boxes on my dining room table waiting to get installed all I need is time. hahaha
  5. Carshateme I know what you mean. But being that the truck and Focus are vehicles one and two of three and are paid off they are my first choice in project vehicles. Both my '97 Sonoma and '06 Focus are mechanically excellent and have zero problems at the moment. The new car won't be seeing anything happen to it for a while. I just wanted to see if it really is a pain in the ass to get to the alt of a Focus as it looks? Thanks for responding. This is the first post where I've only had one person respond, so I thank you again, Carshateme.
  6. I'm currently changing my system over to my Fuckus. Due to my truck being old and shit and my wife getting on me for putting shit into a shit can. LOL. Anyway my question is how do I get to the positive output on the alternator of a '06-'07 Ford Focus? I popped the hood and took a look. I found the alt. But I'm assuming the connections are in the rear near the firewall? Has anyone done the big three on a Focus? Does anyone have any vehicle specific tips? Thanks.
  7. Cadence ofc @ audiosavings.com great deal on 25 ft. for $40-45 and free shipping.
  8. Man just go to a Real university, like you said your not paying anything, get into electrical engineering and take electives in fabrication and you'll learn way more than in a trade school. Plus when your done you'll have a degree not a certificate. Also there are a bunch of beautiful women on college campuses!
  9. Jmilch my thoughts and prayers are with you and your neice. Keep the faith and stay strong for your family. I have a two year old son and I know if anything happened to him I would be on the warpath. May God bless her and your family.
  10. http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/marine-products/marine-source-unit/ That should get you started with a waterproof source unit. Plus it has a built in 40 watt amp. Just my .02.
  11. I have a pair of old Kicker RS6's circa 2001-2002 that I still use to this day as my rear fill! Everyone tells me they are clear and crisp. Granted I did pay $250 for them on eBay back in 2001ish. I'd say get the Kickers or Bostons. PG used to be the shit but now I'm not to sure.
  12. AQ 4x90- 90 watts by 4 @ 4ohm at 14.4v, 120 watts by 4 at @ 2ohm 14.4v. $250 Shipped to your door. (Assuming you live in CA) I'm thinking of ordering mine tonight.
  13. I was looking on their web site and could not verify if their amps are CEA 2006 certified or not? All I have heard about AQ amps are good things; that they are actually under-rated to what is given in the online specs. I'm specifically asking about the AQ4X90. Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks for the info guys I'll give Audio Innovations a call. I have no problem doing my own installs. I just don't have the tools to cut very large gauge wire and solder the terminals in. And yes this was a poor attempt to see if I'm not going to get ripped off or not. Thanks again for the input guys.
  15. I live in the Fresno CA area. I heard there a few members on this forum from this area?
  16. I was planning on taking my vehicle to a reputable car audio shop to get my big three done. I wanted to know what I should expect to pay the shop to install 1/0 Awg. I know I should just call around but I don't have time for that. Being that I'm at work as I write this. LOL! But if someone could give me a ballpark figure that would help me considerably.
  17. Thank you to all who replied! I really lime the info and help I receive on this forum. I rarely turn my system up past half way. I'm not trying to impress anybody. I just like my music to be clear and clean.
  18. As far as the extra battery, I don't know what type. I just want to know if 109 amps is enough to even maintain two batteries with approximately ~2000 watts rms? Is it possible?
  19. Big three is going in first with 0 awg. Looking to run 0 awg from battery to distro block then 4 awg to amps.
  20. BXi 1601D Hifonics 1600 watts at 1ohm. And another 400 watts from an old school RF Punch.
  21. Is my stock 109 amp alt enough to charge and maintain a second battery? Or would I be better off upgrading my alt then adding a battery?
  22. Thanks for the info guys. @ Samslowp1s I was looking at the R300-4 300e 4 channel for my mids and highs. Do you know if they make a "Prime Series" with more power in a 4 channel? Or should I just stop being cheap and get a punch or power series? LOL.
  23. Does anyone know if the Prime series amps are any good? I know Rockford makes outstanding amps, hell I still run a two channel I bought back in 2001 in my current system.
