I don't think they have to be the same model. I'm fairly certain for best performance/longevity, they should be the same type (AGM), its suggested they be the same brand. Reason being, AGM batteries like a higher resting voltage, so the leveling the batteries naturally do will constantly charge and discharge them, thereby shortening the life of the batteries. I don;t THINK they have to be the same model. Don't take my word for law. I'm stupid compared to most of the people here, and I'm not 100% sure about this.
